Winners of Tour de France Fantasy Cycling-Games 2010 confirmed!

We are delighted to confirm the winners of the Tour de France 2010 game here at Fantasy Cycling-Games.

Grand Prize - Manager "Joao Marques" from Marinha Grande, Portugal

With 385 players taking part in this year's game, manager "Joao Marques" won €442 Euros ($585 USD) with his team scoring 6903 points overall.

Here's what he had to say about his selection strategy: "This year I picked all the guys with more than 100 points after stage 6. Of course Contador and Schleck have to be in my team, and also Menchov because only cost 2. I expected a good performance from both spanish guys Samuel Sanchez and Joaquin Rodriguez because there was a lot of mountains to go throu. My joker was Franck Van Den Broeck, and I was right because he made a fantastic race. I made one mistake; I should have chosen Gesink instead of Geraint Thomas, but I didn't because I expected the Captain Menchov of Rabobank to be stronger and loose his position on overall classification. I'm very happy with the result, see you at Vuelta playing again this fantastic game that I would like to see many more people playing - it is really a GREAT GAME."

2nd Place - Manager "elisan" from Getxo, Spain

Coming in just ahead of 3rd place with 6 points more is this year's second place winner with 6871 points, manager "elisan"s team "betatron" won €240 Euros ($320 USD).

Here's what he had to say about his selection strategy: "About my selection strategy, I must say that it was quite difficult to select the riders due to the value (3 pts) of the main favourites, so that, I selected 7 riders for GC, Cancellara and 7 sprinters, considering stages points and Points classification. All together with a lot of luck has made this great final result."

3rd Place - Manager "ciclotron" from Vizcaya, Spain

Missing 2nd place by just a few points Manager "ciclotron" won €202 Euros ($270 USD) with his team "vulcano" scoring 6865 points overall.

Here's what he had to say about his selection strategy: "I think that it was not easy to select 9 riders for GC, so that I selected just 7 riders for that purpose and the rest and 7 sprinters for stages points and Cancellara. In the end it has been a very good choice."
