There are 4 elements to the Grande Tour games.
- "GC" (called the General Classification overall winner) - scored once at the end of the Tour.
- "PTS" (called the Points Classification or Sprints) - scored once at the end of the Tour.
- "MTN" (Mountains or Climbs) - scored once at the end of the Tour.
- "Stages" - there is one stage every day of the Tour.
You need to select 9 riders from the 15 available in your team for each element. The "Stages" need a selection of 9 riders for each and every stage/day during the Tour (there are 21 - the first stage is often called the "Prologue"). The rest need one selection of 9. These are scored at the end of the Tour.
Tips and tactics can be found in the TIPS & TACTICS section and there's loads of new info in the Tips section of the FORUM/CHAT section.
Go to the TOP PRO RIDERS section to see what each rider actually scored in the games last year in each of the Grande Tours.
To work out which riders are good GC (overall winner), MTN (Mountains or Climbers), PTS (Points Classification or Sprinters) - click on the relevant column heading and re-order the riders to show you the best riders in each category. You can compare all the previous Tours. You can also download these in Microsoft compatible spreadsheet formats.
The complete rules with worked examples can be found in the RULES section of the site.
The best way to know what's going on with the riders and the teams is to follow the NEWS in main Cyclingnews site and to read the feature stories and diaries in the main Le Tour site at Cyclingnews.
